Colourful yet Colourless
A paradoxical perception
Grey, A mixture of two kindred colours, black and white, blended together to form—
Grey, a colour that sums up my current reality. An undefined haze where clarity falters.
Dreams, books, films, cooking, friends—all forms of escapism I cherish, adding a hint of lushness to my being. But what are all this if not a kaleidoscope of fleeting moments.
Dreams so vivid they feel like memories, books so tender I get drunk on emotions, films so cinematic I feel like I’m in a painting, recipes so intricate I devote days in trial and error just to seek mastery, friends so loyal they can only be God sent.
Yet….Colourful or colourless?
Cyclical routines, day in day out, sleep, wake, eat, laugh, cry, the little things that makes life, which I’m grateful I get to experience. But naturally with it—comes the silence. The calmness, right after the roughest of storms…the calm that births the breathtaking display we call a rainbow. Oh how I eagerly await the calmness that will birth my rainbow.
Until then what have i left other than to embrace the greyness of it all…the haziness of it all, somewhat colourful somewhat colourless—a state I neither hate nor love, but endure. Awaiting a colour that will stay.
Alas, Colourful yet colourless.
